Hodgkinson 1:54.87 WR, 4 more WL

LIÉVIN (FRA, Feb 19): Keely Hodgkinson highlighted the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais Trophée EDF (WIT Gold) with a new world short-track record in the 800m, the final event of the evening which delivered also for more world leads and four meeting records. Hodgkinson clocked 1:54.87 and improved the previous world record of Jolanda Čeplak from 2002 by 0.95 sec. Audrey Werro finished second (1:58.38) and Tsige Duguma third (1:58.83).

Freweyni Hailu set a world lead of 8:24.59 in the 3000m and won ahead of World U20 champion Aleshign Baweke (8:26.29 PB), Nadia Battocletti (8:26.44 EL/NRi) and Marta García (8:34.28 NRi), with Sarah Madeleine finishing eighth (8:39.13 NRi/PB). Emmanouil Karalis cleared the world leading 600cm on first attempt and tried at 607, over Sondre Guttormsen and Zach Bradford (both 590).

Tina Šutej ahead of Imogen Ayris and Katie Moon (all 470) in the women’s event.

Yasser Triki won the triple jump with a world lead of 17.35 over Jordan Scott (17.11). Isaac Nader won the 1500m, with top four in NRi, in 3:32.44 EL over Federico Riva (3:33.02), Andrew Coscoran (3:33.09), and Stefan Nillessen (3:33.64).

Eliot Crestan topped the 800m in 1:43.91 MR over Maciej Wyderka (1:44.64). In the hurdles, Devynne Charlton in 7.79 over Pia Skrzyszowska (7.83), and Just Kwaou-Mathey in photo-finish over Enrique Llopis (=NR), both in 7.45.

Leonardo Fabbri posted 21.82 in his indoor opener and defeated Joe Kovacs (21.40) in the shot put. Other winners on the track, Georgia Hunter Bell in the 1500m (4:00.21), Emma Zapletalová in the 400m (51.40), and Addisu Yihune in the 3000m (7:33.58 PB).
