The Millrose Games was the second stop on the 2026 World Indoor Tour Gold Series. This was the 118th edition of the meeting, which was held, for over 100 years at the old Madison Square Garden. In 2012, the Millrose Games was moved to the Track & Field Armory, now known as the NIKE Track & Field Armory. We at RunBlogRun call the Armory, “the house that Norb built”, after the late Norb Sander, former NYC Marathon Champ, who championed the Armory into a refurb and brought the historic Armory back to the sport. Norb Sander also brought the Millrose Games to the Armory. I must be honest and note that I was not a fan on moving from the MSG but the owners of MSG made it impossible for meet directors to make a profit off the meet or actually hold the event on a night that could encourage attendance.
The Millrose Games is on fire, as the facility is standing room only and well-attended. The biggest issue is lack of access for media outside of the streaming or TV media. But, alas, that is just the media’s problem, per meet management.
Here are my five take aways from the Millrose Games, edition 118, which was FANTASTIC! I stayed up until 5 am in Dubai, watching the meet via You Tube World Athletics and posting the coverage from Jeff Benjamin, our senior writer who attended the meet (no access to the mixed zone), and the Millrose presser.
Here is our Five Takeways from Millrose 2026!
- Best Men’s Race of night? Men’s 2 mile! Probably the finest field in two miles that this writer had ever seen. Grant Fisher, who had to pull out due to illness (he could not breathe, so not good thing to race during such conditions), noted that ” the 2 mile field may be better than Olympic final, it was a very dense field.” Well that was an understatement. The race was full of big kickers (Josh Kerr, Geordie Beamich, Ky Robinson, Jake Wightman, Cole Hocker). In the last lap, it came down to Josh Kerr, Parker Wolfe and Cole Hocker. Cole Hocker, World Champ at 5,000 meters, Oly champ at 1,500 meters, Josh Kerr, Oly silver and bronze at 1,500 meters, World Champ indoors, 3,000 meters and World Champs, 1,500 meters, battled past Parker Wolfe, US XC Champ, and top World Cross US finsher (12th), with Cole Hocker winning in 8:07.31, Kerr in second and Wolfe in third! A fantastic race!

Doris Lemngole, Hannah Nuttall, Jane Hedengren battled to the very finish, all three scoring PBs, with Doris Lemngole, taking the win, in an NCAA record for 3000 meters, Hannah Nuttall scoring a big PB and Jane Hedengren scoring a PB, plus American collegiate record! Doris ran 8:31.39, Hannah ran 8:32.94 and Jane ran 8:34.98!

Doris Lemingole wins a tough 3,000m in Millrose 2026, setting a new CR record, photo by Kevin Morris - Nikki Hiltz, after seven or eight races in Millrose, Nikki wins Women’s Wanamaker Mile! Nikki Hiltz has won eight US titles, but never a win at Millrose. This year, Nikki made a big move past the half-way point and held off 2024 Oly silver medalist at 1,500 meters, Jess Hull. Nikki ran 4:19.64, with Jess Hull in 4:20.11 and Klaudia Kazimierka, POL setting NR and ER of 4:21.36! Nikki dominated the race, running their own race, to the delight of the crowd!

The thrill of victory, Nikki Hiltz wins Wanamaker Women’s mile, photo by World Athletics - Cam Myers, the 19 year old Australian phenom, takes the win at the Men’s Wanamaker Mile in 3:47.57! Cam Myers just won the NB Indoor 3000 meters in Aussie NR of 7:27.57 on January 24, 2026. Cam Myers hold off 3 time Millrose winner Yared Nuguse, USA, who ran 3:48.31 and Hobbs Kessler, new WR holder at 2,000m (4:48.74, January 24). The mile was deep, with six men under 3:51.

Cam Myers wins Wanamaker Men’s mile, by John Nepolitan - Cooper Lutkenhaus wins 600 meters in 1:14.15, second win in one week! Last week, Cooper Lutkenhaus, WU20 WR and AR holder U18 at 800 meters, won his first NIKE pro race at Norb Sander Invite, in 1:45.2 at 800 meters, a new U18 US record. On February 1, Cooper won the 600 meters decisively, becoming #4 all time. This young man, is well, young! He did his first double workout day just a few months ago! Where will he go from here?
