Vincent Ciattei is a middle-distance runner competing for Under Armour’s Dark Sky Club. Vincent has PBs of 800m at 1:46.82, 3:31.67 for 1,500 meters, 3:49.37 for the mile  and 7:39.50 for 3,000 meters.

At the 2024 Olympic Trials, Vincent Ciattei was fourth in the 1,500 meters. In the winter of 2026, Vincent opened indoor with a big PB of 7:39.50 at BU Terrier Classic on 30 January 2025. On February 14, Vincent ran 3:33.74 for 1,500m short track at ASICS Sound Running Invite and a PB for the mile at 3:51.70, taking third place. On February 19, Vincent Ciattei ran 3:35.83 for 8th place at the meeting de Lieven.

Vincent is primed for USATF Indoors, held Feb.28-March 1.

Special thanks to Jeff Benjamin for the USATF Preview interviews!

1) How’s your training coming along & how happy are you so far with your performances indoors?

Vincent Ciattei : “My training through the fall and winter has been consistent and healthy. In the fall I was prepping for US XC, and even though it didn’t go well for me I translated that build into a good winter so far. I’ve been happy with my racing so far indoors. My first race was my first time under 7:40 for 3k and I was in the mix. I then raced the mile at Sound Running and although I couldn’t hang with the pace I’m glad I went for it. And racing in Lievin pretty shortly after that was a good leaning experience, my legs were definitely feeling the travel but I still approached the race the way I wanted to. Both of those results weren’t amazing but I think the stimuli were still very important!”

2) I’d think after indoor season, this is an outdoor track year to pursue records – do you agree?

Vincent Ciattei : “Personally, the US road champs is still the number one goal after indoors. I won last year and then the world road champs was cancelled, which would’ve been my first US team. That was quite sad, so I want to try to make that team again, and then I can focus on running fast with everyone else.”

3) As a previous visitor How do you like the Ocean Breeze facility?

Vincent Ciattei : “Ocean Breeze is a nice facility for sure, the track feels quick and the stands on the homestretch feel pretty big for an indoor track!”

4) What event are you going to compete in and do you have any pre-planned strategy?

Vincent Ciattei :  “I will be racing the 1500. Indoors can be quite chaotic, but my ideal plan would be being in the mix to win before it’s too late. Last year I got a bad start and was just a little too patient.”

5) Anything else you’d like to add?

Vincent Ciattei : “My parents and brother will be there watching, and I always race well particularly when he is there so I’m excited about that!”
