Three world leads and thrilling finishes

OSLO (NOR, Jun 10): Despite the cold weather and winds, crowds at the Bislett Stadion watched excellent performances, with three world leads and one meeting record at the Oslo Bislett Games / Wanda Diamond League. Freweyni Hailu in the 3000m (8:24.22), Cooper Lutkenhaus in the 800m (1:42.08), and Addisu Yihine in the 5000m (12:47.62) delivered the world leads. Bislett also featured thrilling finishes in the Dream Mile and men’s 800m and 5000m, and a home victory for Henriette Jaeger in the 400m (49.52). Next DL meeting is scheduled for Doha, Qatar on June 19.Event by event reviews

3000m: Freweyni Hailu reversed the result from the 5000m in Rome, winning in a world lead of 8:24.22 (just 0.02 off the meeting record) ahead of Likina Amebaw (8:25.15) with fellow Ethiopians Senayet Getachew (8:25.85) and Hawi Abera (8:27.18) third and fourth respectively, and Maureen Koster fifth (8:27.67) as the best European.

World champion Leyanis Perez Hernandez was only third with 14.60m (2.2), also 14.51 (0.0).
