Inaugural USA Track & Field Indoor Tour to Kick Off in 2027
INDIANAPOLIS — Following the success of the first-ever USA Track & Field Tour this summer, USA Track & Field announced the inaugural USA Track & Field Indoor Tour on Wednesday. It will kick off in January in New York City and build up to the USATF Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 19-21 in Indianapolis.
The 2027 USA Track & Field Indoor Tour will feature six independently operated meets that have earned World Athletics bronze, silver, or gold labels based on competition level, athlete support, media exposure, and prize money.
USA Track & Field, the national governing body for athletics, collaborated with meet organizers to create a competition calendar that maximizes opportunities for athletes, sponsors, and fans by ensuring multiple, unique chances for all discipline groups to earn points in the World Athletics ranking system. As it did with the outdoor tour, USA Track & Field will cover all costs associated with drug testing, technical delegates, sanctioning, and insurance. It will prioritize Tour meets when allocating travel funding for tiered athletes and, if needed, supplement the program with costs for additional disciplines. USATF will also support the meets with marketing and media coverage, from ticket sales to performance highlights.

The USA Track & Field Tour will kick off with the NYC Indoor Grand Prix at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island January 22-23. The following weekend will see the sprint-focused PNC Lenny Lyles Open in Louisville as well as the jumps-focused K-State DeLoss Dodds Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas, and the distance-focused ASICS Sound Invite in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The New Balance Indoor Grand Prix will be held on February 6 in Boston, and the Millrose Games are scheduled for February 13 at Nike Track & Field Center at the Armory in New York City. The final tour meets of the tour will be televised in the United States on NBC and Peacock.
