Raeyvn Rogers knows how to peak at the 800 meters. Raeyvn Rogers is an athlete who knows the 800 meters. You know that event, two laps of absolute racing, so near your redline, and that last 200 meters, oh my gosh, where you have to kick like you have something left?
Well, Raeyvn Rogers sure knows how to kick! Raeyvn Rogers knows how to do just that. In 2017, Raeyvn won the NCAA Division 1 800 meters title, and then, in a race you must watch on YouTube, anchored the Oregon 4x400m relay to victory in an oh-so-close finish!
What makes Raeyvn Rogers so special? Her kick is explosive!
In 2019, at the Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar, Raeyvn Rogers took the silver, moving up from the back of the pack to claim her first World Championship medal, running 1:58.18.
In the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (held in 2021), Raeyvn Rogers utilized her patented kick and secured an Olympic bronze, as Athing Mu claimed the gold, resulting in the US winning gold and bronze at the 800 meters. Raeyvn Rogers ran her PB of 1:56.81 in Tokyo.
In 2022, in front of her home crowd in Eugene, Oregon, Raeyvn Rogers ran 1:58.26, inching into a brilliant bronze medal once again.Newspapers called her finish “absolutely insane”! I concur!
In Budapest in 2023, this writer was sitting high above the track, screaming his lungs out as Raeyvn charged, oh so close, taking 4th place, and running a screamingly hot 1:57.45! The hot, humid conditions of Budapest in August were draining, but Raeyvn Rogers showed her consistency.
In 2024, Raevyn Rogers had a rough year, placing 7th in the US champs and not making the Olympic team.
The women’s 800m in the U.S. is terribly competitive.
Raeyvn Rogers took 6h at the recent 50th NIKE Pre Classic 800m, in 1:58.49. She is ready for a great race in Eugene!
This writer interviewed Raeyvn back during the pandemic and was struck by her confidence and love of racing.
Watch Raeyvn, Rogers, who has a cross-country background as well, but loves the relays and the 800 meters!

Will. you be ready? Follow our daily training suggestions, and daily athlete stories and you will be ready to race in the fall!

The Nike Pegasus PLUS is a great entry shoe for high school cross country. You should consider it, and learn more about it at nike.com. It is light, cushioned, a good summer mileage shoe. If you need a little more cushioning, try the Vomero 18. The Vomero 18 has more cushioning that the Pegasus PLUS. If you like NIKE, I would suggest high schoolers use the NIKE Pegasus PLUS for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I would suggest the Vomero 18 for Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I always suggest two pairs of training shoes. Why on Vomero 18? It is a cushioned shoe that feels great and is good on the roads and trails.
Do you want to be a better cross country runner than you were in the past? Focus and follow our training. It is all about the consistency.
