An Interview with Anna Gibson,
Brooks Sponsored Trail Runner
Episode # 5
Anna Gibson just won the bronze medal in the Uphill-6k at the 2025 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships. Anna Gibson then came back and helped Team USA win the silver medal in the Classic 14k Race!
Anna ran the Uphill 6k, which was god-awful, please read the story on the link. The race gained 3,000 vertical feet in 4 miles, which Anna covered in 46 minutes and 7 seconds!
Then, she ran the Classic 14k, which could not be and should not be described as a cake walk. Anna Gibson loves hills. After my discussion with this gifted runner, I think that she relaxed when she sees a huge hill in front of her!
Anna Gibson loves hills! Anna was raised with the Grand Tetons in her back yard. She grew up in Wyoming, running cross-country and track, plus cross-country skiing.
Anna Gibson has an awesome track and field background. She ran for the Powells at the University of Washington, in Seattle, WA. While there, Anna anchored her DMR to the NCAA record!
After her time at the University of Washington, Anna Gibson was signed by the Brooks Beasts, where she ran the 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters.
Anna has PBs of 4:08 at 1,500 meters and 4:33 for the mile! Anna Gibson has also run a 9:08 for the 3,000 meters in 2022.
Anna Gibson uses track speed and speed work to build her ability to race well in the trails! This interview is fascinating, not only with Anna’s training methods and her attitude about racing in the Trails!
Special thanks to Brooks sports marketing for their support and Anna Gibson for her wonderful interview!
