This is the fourth of the NXR regionals in 2025, the Southwest regional, held in Mesa, Arizona on November 22, 2025. The Southwest Regional had 3,500 competitors in the morning of races, and two fantastic championship races.

I was fascinated with not only the athletes, coaches and families, but just the atmosphere of the event, where, the pressure of the regular season was over, the excitement of a new race, and the excitement of running your fastest race of the season, as the athletes were on a flat course. Nearly every athlete from Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada told us how they had run courses with big hills and at altitude, and that the Mesa course was just, plain fast!
