Boston, Mass. (Jan. 13, 2026) – Cordell Tinch and Anna Hall, the reigning world champions in the men’s 110m hurdles and women’s heptathlon, respectively, are confirmed to compete at the 2026 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, organizers announced today.

Aiming for his first win at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, Cordell Tinch headlines the men’s 60m hurdles. Tinch is coming off a fantastic 2025 season that saw him earn wins at Wanda Diamond League meetings in Silesia, Lausanne, and Zurich and, most importantly, in the final of the 110m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Tinch finished the year as the clear world number one, having run three of the five sub-13.00 performances recorded in 2025, including a 12.87 personal best, making him the equal fourth-fastest man in history.

Paring down her day’s work down to just two events, Anna Hall, the 2025 world champion in the heptathlon, will make her New Balance Indoor Grand Prix debut, competing in both the long jump and 400m. Hall has been among the world’s best multi-event athletes for several years, having won bronze and silver medals in the heptathlon at the 2022 and 2023 World Athletics Championships, respectively, and a personal best that ranks her second on the all-time list behind world record holder Jackie Joyner-Kersee. In the long jump, Hall will find stiff competition in the form of 2024 Olympic bronze medalist Jasmine Moore and reigning world indoor champion Claire Bryant.

In an exciting clash of middle-distance greats, Donavan Brazier, the 2019 world champion at 800m, and Bryce Hoppel, the 2024 world indoor champion at 800m, will race over 600m here in Boston. Brazier is in the middle of an historic comeback from injuries that cost him the whole of the 2023 and 2024 seasons, before roaring back to top form to win the 800m at last year’s US Championships in a new lifetime best of 1:42.16. Hoppel, who broke Brazier’s national outdoor record with his fourth-place finish of 1:41.67 in the 2024 Olympic final, has been a model of consistency, having won seven national championships and two global medals in recent years. Challenging both Americans will be Cian McPhillips, who demolished the Irish national record with a 1:42.15 fourth-place finish at last year’s 800m final at the World Athletics Championships, and Spain’s Mohamed Attaoui, the fifth-place finisher over 800m at both the 2024 Olympic Games and 2025 World Athletics Championships.
Those competitors join previously announced top athletes Noah Lyles, Jake Wightman, Grant Fisher, Elle St. Pierre, Josh Hoey, Graham Blanks, Andrew Coscoran, and Jessica Hull.
The 2026 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix will be shown live on NBC from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST* on Saturday, Jan. 24 and is a founding member of the World Athletics Indoor Tour. The series of the best indoor athletics events around the world awards overall tour winners $10,000 and a guaranteed spot at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland.
Now in its 31st year, the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix has played host to nine world records and 16 American records.
