Gabby’s Most Excellent Adventure, part 1: Adidas Abba Grand Prix (April 18),

Gabby Thomas is the Olympic champion in the 200 meters. She is an athlete of great versatility, with speed in the 100-, 200-, and 400-meter races!

Gabby Thomas replaced the early-season GST series of 2025 with a short three-meet tour of African athletics meets!

Gabby Thomas is healthy in 2026, having had to withdraw from Tokyo 2025 due to Achilles tendon issues.

Coached by Tonja Buford-Bailey, Gabby Thomas always comes into the season with great strength and develops her speed over a few races.

Her first meet was in Addis Ababa on April 18, 2026. In front of a wonderfully enthusiastic crowd on a brand new track facility. At high altitude in Addis Ababa, Gabby Thomas ran the 100 meters in 11.13 seconds and the 200 meters in 22.15 seconds, both wins. What a nice way to begin her African tour! Training partner, Cambrea Sturgis, was third in the 100m in 11.36 and second in the 200 meter in 22.42.
