Tom Walsh is one of the classiest and most competitive athletes in our sport. His interviews are intense, also very fun, and you are aware that you are with sports royalty. It is not Tom’s attitude; it is his iconic career: World Indoor Championships, World Outdoor Championships, gutty competitions when his back is against the wall, and Walsh’s absolute love for competition!

ZAGREB (CRO): Tomorrow will see the men’s shot put take place as the Ivan Ivančić Memorial, part of the Boris Hanžeković Memorial (WACT Gold), at the Zagreb Fountains. Ahead of the competition, Tom Walsh and Roger Steen attended the pre-event press conference. Walsh, the 2017 World Champion and reigning World Indoor Champion, noted that it is his favourite European meeting to compete at. “This is a special place for me. I achieved my first major international success here. The fans are always fantastic, they support all the throwers, and I feel very comfortable here. Zagreb is my European home”. The competition starts at 19:45 local time and is free for spectators to attend.
