POTCHEFSTROOM (RSA, Apr 22): Olympic medalist Luvo Manyonga in first jump leaped to another African record 865 (+1.3) and then retired with groin issue. Second Rushwaal Samaai also PB 849 (-0.8) and third Zarck Visser 803 (+1.6). Another top highlight of second and final day of nationals in altitude was the 200 m by World record holder Wayde Van Niekerk. He won in WL and PB 19.90 (+0.5) ahead of Akani Simbine 20.15, Gift Leotlela 20.20 PB for the U20 athlete and Clarence Munyai 20.25. But also other winning results are showing that South African Athletics is moving forward. Pieter Conradie won 400 m in 45.15 PB, life-time bests also in shot put 21.12 by Orazio Cremona and 20.63 by Jaco Engelbrecht. Caster Semenya scored expected double 51.60 and 2:01.03 in 400/800 combination. Last year junior Chris Moleya improved in high jump to 225, Ryhardt van Rensburg topped the 800 m 1:46.56. Tiaan Smit clocked PB 13.42 (+0.3) at 110 m Hurdles while beating Antonio Alkana 13.49. Elroy Gelant after 5k disappointment won the 10 000 m in 29:09.87. Among women Alyssa Conley completed sprint double with 22.94 (+1.5) in the 200 m and Rikenette Steenkamp won hurdles in 13.02 (-0.1) PB
