How does one describe Kenenisa Bekele? At the Virgin Money London Marathon presser on Thursday, April 20, interviewer Tim Hutchings called Kenenisa Bekele “the greatest distance runner of all times.” Last September, Kenenisa battled Wilson Kipsang for 40 kilometers, then, sped away to a 2:03:03!
Admitting that he is about 90 percent right now, Kenenisa Bekele is the odds on favorite for tomorrow, Sunday, April 23 at the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon. I also think one should consider Bedan Karoki (great training, dangerous kick), Abel Kirui (wants it bad, championship runner) and Ghirmay Ghebrselassie (World Champion, national rivalry, as in Ethiopia (Bekele) versus Eritrea (Ghebrselassie).
I interviewed Kenenisa on Thursday, April 20. He was frank, relaxed and balancing revealing enough information to keep this media person interested, but not playing his cards. We will just have to wait until Sunday, April 23.
