Sally Pearson is the 2012 Olympic champion. That is a fact. Over the past three years, she has dealt with a series of injuries, and many of her fans and supporters were hoping that she could make it back to the top.
There had been some promising signs. But, an Olympic champion has been there, they know what they feel like when they are racing fit, they know how confident they feel after good races and workouts, and they know how they race when all the pistons in the mortal engine are firing. Sally Pearson is a smart, focused and precise athlete.
In the semi-final, Sally Pearson put in the extra effort to win her heat. I noted that, what is up with Sally? Is she telling us something? Keni Harrison ran a fast first heat and all the talk was about Keni.
In the final, Keni Harrison went out, as did Sally Pearson. Keni Harrison runs relaxed, focused and hits one hurdle, but keeps it together. All of sudden, Sally Pearson’s hunter instinct is back and she sees Keni’s mishap, and begins to put the pressure on. Harrison wins in 12.39 and Pearson, healthy, but also confident, takes second in 12.48.
