ADDIS ABABA (ETH): World indoor 3000m champion Yomif Kejelcha has said one of the bonuses from the Ethiopian government for winning a global title in Birmingham was 500 square metres of land in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, informs The Independent. “In previous years the government would give land to the athletes. This happened to Haile [Gebrselassie], but then stopped for several years. Then last year [at the world championships in London] the government brought them back again,” he said. The story also reports that world indoor 1500m and 3000m champion Genzebe Dibaba has cut ties with Jama Aden and that she has been coached by Hussein Shibo and Tolera Dinka since September 2017.
