I love the FBK Games! Held in Hengelo, this venerable event is held in an iconic stadium. Global Sports Communications puts on this amazing event, and it has featured some exciting athletes and we can not wait to see the fields! Now, in the 40th year, the FBK Games is juggling ever changing COVID 19 protocals and an upcoming Olympic Games.

FBK Games takes place on June 6, 2021

The 40th birthday of the FBK Games will take place in Hengelo on Sunday, June 6, 2021. Whether or not there will be fans in the stadium is not yet clear at this time, due to the ever-changing situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s fantastic news that we’re in a position where we can organize the event this year,” says meeting director Hans Kloosterman. “We really hope that we will be able to welcome fans into our stadium come June, as it would be an incredible lead-up to the Olympic Games in Tokyo later this summer.”

The FBK Games will organize 16 disciplines comprised of 9 men events and 7 women events.

Men: 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, long jump, high jump, and pole vault.

Women: 100m, 400m, 800m, 10,000m, 100m hurdles, high jump, and discus throw.

Ellen van Langen describes the program as a great mix of disciplines.’ She says: “I had early discussions with Charles van Commenee, Head coach of the Dutch Athletics Federation, how we can facilitate our Dutch athletes as well as possible in their race schedule. Hengelo has always been an important moment in preparation for the Olympics, especially for athletes who are still looking to qualify.”

The one world-class athletics event in the Netherlands is an important stop on the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold, which consists of 11 meets in 10 countries.

For more information visit: www.fbkgames.nl. We will provide more updates and information on our social media channels whether we will be able to welcome fans in Hengelo in the coming time.
