BOSTON–The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has announced that both the 2021 B.A.A. 10K, presented by Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the 2021 B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, will be held as virtual events this year. Virtual race dates will be June 25-27 for the B.A.A. 10K, and September 17-19 for the B.A.A. Half Marathon.

BOSTON–The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has announced that both the 2021 B.A.A. 10K, presented by Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the 2021 B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, will be held as virtual events this year. Virtual race dates will be June 25-27 for the B.A.A. 10K, and September 17-19 for the B.A.A. Half Marathon.

“Runners around the world can earn the signature unicorn medals and be active through the B.A.A. 10K and B.A.A. Half Marathon,” said Tom Grilk, B.A.A. President and CEO. “We look forward to continuing to engage new and experienced runners globally in the sport of running and helping people pursue active lifestyles.”

Registration for the Virtual 2021 B.A.A. 10K opens tomorrow at 10:00AM ET, Tuesday, April 6, through the B.A.A.’s online platform Athletes’ Village. Runners can create a free Athletes’ Village account prior to registration opening.

There will be three tiers for the 2021 B.A.A. 10K:

  • The Start Line Package ($55, unlimited) includes virtual B.A.A. 10K entry; a unicorn finisher’s medal; printable bib; finisher’s certificate;
  • The Finish Line Package ($70, while supplies last) includes virtual B.A.A. 10K entry; a unicorn finisher’s medal; printable bib; finisher’s certificate; adidas official participant shirt;
  • The Unicorn Package ($75, while supplies last) includes virtual B.A.A. 10K entry; a unicorn finisher’s medal; printable bib; finisher’s certificate; adidas official participant shirt; access to exclusive B.A.A. training program created by B.A.A. High Performance coach and two-time Olympian Mark Carroll. Access to a private training group within the virtual Athletes’ Village and will include training videos, tips, and more. The training programs are tailored to athletes of different levels, including those running their first or fastest 10K.

To account for shipping, handling, and fees, international athletes will be charged an additional $20.

All entrants will receive a virtual B.A.A. 10K toolkit featuring signature race elements including a printable champion’s breaktape; mile markers; and cheer cards.

Registration dates and information for the virtual B.A.A. Half Marathon will be announced at a later date. Both events are anticipated to return to an in-person format in 2022.

In addition to the B.A.A. 10K and B.A.A. Half Marathon, the B.A.A. is also holding historic virtual events this year for the Boston Marathon (October 8-10) in addition to the in-person race (Monday, October 11), B.A.A. 5K (April 16-18), and Patriots’ Day Mile (April 19). Registration for the Virtual B.A.A. 5K, Patriots’ Day Mile, and Virtual 125th Boston Marathon are currently open within Athletes’ Village.
