What a season!

Indoors in 2021, Shaunae Miller-Uibo ran 22.40 on 31 Jan 2021 at the ATL Meet 2, setting a NR indoor record at the 200 meters. On January 13, 2021, Shaunae came back, ran the 400m indoors, going 50.21, setting NR indoors and Area record as well!

Now, running a 200 meter straight, Shaunae Miller-Uibo told the assembeled media for the remote adidas Boost Boston Games that she likes the 200m, straight and is looking forward to racing on the streets of Boston on Sunday, May 23, 2021.

When Shaunae Miller Uibo opened in 2021, her 200m in 22.40 was one of the top 10 marks all time! She looked so smooth on the Tyson indoor track, a banked 200 meter MONDO track! Shaunae looked so smooth.

Two weeks later, Shaunae Miller Uibo came roaring back, in the two lapper, going 50.21 at the Ocean Breeze complex in New York, at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix.

In the presser today, Shaunae noted, rather non challantly, that she is beginning her speed work as Coach Brauman and her focus on the 200m in Tokyo Olympic Games.

“I already have the 400m title at the Olympics, I want a 200m title…I want something different.”

Always positive, and always providing a thoughtful comment, Shaunae Miller-Uibo showed total class back in Doha 2019, when many were shocked that she did not win the 400 meters. The women who did win, who now is dealing with missing whereabouts testing, was questioned by nearly everyone else in the media on the planet. Never did Shaunae Miller-Uibo question the gold medalist from Doha: Miller-Uibo lets her feet do the talking.

In the 200 meters outdoors, Shaunae Miller Uibo did the furlong in a sizzling 22.03, on 4 April 2021. That was the world leader and the Bahamian looked on the road to Tokyo.

In the 400 meters, Shaunae Miller Uibo ran 49.08, again, a tough 400m flat and world leader, showing that her strength work had put her on target for where she is focused for Tokyo Olympics in July and August 2021.

Will there be fans in the stands? Does not seem to matter. While athletes like Miller-Uibo adore fans and see that part of her legacy is to get young women to compete in all sports, Shaunae Miller-Uibo knows that the country of Bahama and all of her US fans will be watching her compete this summer.

“My perfect distance to race? Probably the 250 meters!” is what Shaunae told me in the the presser early on Saturday morning.

But for Sunday, May 23, all eyes will be on Shaunae Miller-Uibo as she runs a 200m straight and has some fun!

The 2021 adidas Boston Boost Games will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021. The meet will go from 8:30 AM until 6 PM Eastern time. The TV window is NBC in the US, from 4:30 PM to 6 PM Eastern Daylight Time.
