Grant Fisher is a two-event Olympian. As one of the youngest members of the Bowerman TC, Grant Fisher has shown true moments of brilliance. He showed one again last night when he destroyed the AR at 5000m with his brilliant 12:53.73. In second, his team mate, Mo Ahmed set the Canadian NR with a 12:56.87, and Marc Scott, in his first race in two years, became the first European under 13 minutes indoors, in a British NR of 12:57.08.
BOSTON (USA, Feb 12): US middle-distance runner Grant Fisher obliterated the American 5000 Indoor Record in Boston with a time of 12:53.73 to become the fourth-fastest man in history. Behind him, Canada’s Moh Ahmed clocked an NR of 12:56.87 and Great Britain’s Marc Scott breaks his own European Record and becomes the first European man under 13 minutes indoors, with 12:57.08. It was Scott’s first race in 2 years. Kieran Tuntivate broke the Asian Record in 13:08.41 and Adrian Wildschutt the South African NR in 13:09.30. In the 1500m, Neil Gourley ran an outright PB of 3.35.32 to move to third on UK all-time lists ahead of Josh Thompson 3:37.96 and Briton Charlie Grice 3:38.00. Yared Nuguse broke the NCAA 3000m indoor record in 7:38.13 and moves to 7th on US all-time lists. Quamel Prince won the 1000 m in 2:19.01.
