Blanka Vlasic was quite worried when she started the high jump, clearing 1.95. ” I did not think
there would be a celebration today.”, Vlasic told the European media. Yet, Blanka held on and took the European Champs with a fine clearance of 2.03m. Emma Greene of Sweden was the surprise silver medalist and Ariane Freiderich, the German high jumper, took the bronze!
