Moving up from her bronze medal over 5,000 meters at the Commonwealth Games, Jo Pavey wins the European Champs over 10,000 meters. The mother of two, just over forty years of age, defeated runners half of her size but with a third of her drive and none of Pavey’s racing savvy!

Here is how Alfons Juck notes the significant points, both high and low, from Day One, Session two.
