The FootLocker Cross Country is the oldest national cross country championship series in the country. The Midwestern regional has had some amazing athletes run on the UW Parkside course. Forty degrees and winter in Wisconsin, this 5,000 meter course makes people work for the their positions. 


Looking forward to seeing Anna Rohrer and Grant Fisher in San Diego in a few weeks!

Anna Rohrer and Grant Fisher Capture First Place Titles in

 36th Annual Foot Locker Cross Country Championships 

Midwest Regional

RACE HIGHLIGHTS: Anna Rohrer of Mishawaka, Ind., and Grant Fisher of Grand Blanc, Mich., won the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships (FLCCC) Midwest Regional today.  In the girls’ race, Rohrer claimed the title in 16:57.  Lauren Gregory of Fort Collins, Colo., placed second in 17:27, and Maryjeanne Gilbert of Peoria, Ill., placed third in 17:29.  Rohrer is the 2012 Midwest Regional Champion and 2012 FLCCC National Champion. Additional two-time national finalists include Stephanie Jenks (5th place) of Aurora, Iowa, and Hannah Long (6th place) of Pacific, Mo.

In the boys’ race, Fisher, the 2013 Midwest Regional Champion, defended his regional title, winning in 15:00.  Jesse Hersha of Concord, Mich., placed second in 15:09, with Jesse Reiser of McHenry, Ill., finishing third in 15:09.  Fisher will return to San Diego, Calif., to defend his national title.  Fisher, Reiser and Thomas Pollard of Ames, Iowa, are all two-time national finalists.

COURSE/WEATHER: 5,000-meter course; muddy conditions; 40 degrees. 

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS: The top 10 boys and the top 10 girls in today’s seeded races qualified to compete against runners from the Northeast, South and West Regional meets in the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals, on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Morley Field, Balboa Park in San Diego, Calif.
