Kudos to our friends at USATF Board of Directors, who just hired the Griffin Network, a highly respected executive search firm. The board has realized that they need the new CEO and a very good one, hopefully by the Olympic Trials.

This blogger applauds the actions of USATF and for more fodder, you can reread the various blogs I have posted, with earlier pieces on the CEO Search.

USATF hires The Griffin Network to lead CEO search

INDIANAPOLIS - Cathy Griffin and The Griffin Network, an executive recruitment firm, will lead the search for the new Chief Executive Officer of USA Track & Field, USATF President and acting CEO Bill Roe announced Thursday.

A USATF search committee will work withGriffin to recruit an appropriate executive candidate to replace Craig Masback, who earlier this year resigned his position with USATF after 10 years as CEO.

Before starting her own company, Griffin worked as a leading executive recruiter heading up the Sports Entertainment and Sports Consumer Products Practice for Korn/Ferry International and AT Kearney. Prior to entering the executive search field, Griffin spent 20 years in the business of television, new media, sports, publishing, consumer products, apparel/footwear, and entertainment industries. Sheworked with Pepsi-Cola in the early '80's in building the Pepsi 10km Series into a leading sports program.

USATF hopes to conclude its CEO search by late June.
