Wallace Spearmon, using his patented, "he will not move before his time move", ran down the entire field over the last fifty meters in Zurich last night, to win the Weltklasse 200 meters plus the inaugural Diamond League Trophy for his event! Spearmon is an anomaly: he really does not get wound up until the last fifty meters of a his race, the 200 meters, and when he moves, it is hard to believe what one is watching.

His speed over the last 50 meters is crushing. It is one of the reasons why I wonder he has not run faster over 100 meters, but, that may be because it is not his race. Spearmon was built for the 200 meters, and he sure knows how to run relays. His 4 x 100 meter leg that same night was blazing. He ran up the back of Tyson Gay before Tyson took off like a bat out of hell! An affable athlete, who is the most relaxed American sprinter that I have ever seen, Wallace Spearmon has had an memorable 2010!
