This second video, is with Chris Solinsky after he fought Imane Merga to the tape, taking third in 12:56.45. With Solinsky’s third sub 13 minute race in one season, he ties Bernard Lagat for the most sub 13 minutes run in one season by an American citizen. Solinsky is also the first non-African to run three sub 13 minutes 5,000 meters in one season.
During an interview with RBR, Chris Solinsky was asked about the altitude in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He laughed a bit and noted that it was not that high. As one track observer noted to me after watching Chris Solinsky race the 5,000 meters in Zurich: “Solinsky is a racer.” Nothing more can be added.
