The RNR San Jose Half Marathon is one of the fastest half marathon courses in the country. This year proved no exception as Meb Keflezighi, 2004 Olympic silver medalist and 2009 ING NYCM champion rounds into shape, preparing for both the 2011 ING NYCM but also the 2012 US Olympic Marathon Trials. Meb won, running a fine 1:02.37, the second fastest marathon time by an American in 2011.
Deena Kastor, also a 2004 Olympian, with a bronze medalist to show for it, ran a fine 1:12 for the half marathon, also winning her division. Deena wanted a 1:11-1:12 for her first half marathon after the birth of her son.
Congrats to both, and thanks to PhotoRun.net for the fine photos we have to celebrate the race in Speed City!
