IVANO-FRANKIVSK (UKR, Jan 16): Shot put finalist of Moscow World championships (9th place) Halyna Obleshchuk won Ivano-Frankivsk regional cup with 18.15 m and missed her indoor personal best only by 9 cm.

NAPLES (USA, Jan 19): Kenyan Kiprono Kurgat won the 27th Naples Daily News Half Marathon in 1:04:02. Caroline Rotich equaled women course record in 1:09:58. Informs RRW.

VERACRUZ (MEX, Jan 19): Tenth Half Marathon Puerto de Veracruz had home winner Juan Carlos Romero Bernal in 1:02:47 over Kenyan Elijah Karanja 1:03:29.

ANTEQUERA (ESP, Jan 18): Cuban Mauri Castillo clocked here in the 1500 m 3:43.88, the fastest time of the indoor season so far.

ALICANTE (ESP, Jan 18): Maria del Mar Jover leaped to 650 (+1.8) in the long jump during an outdoor meet.

RIO DE JANEIRO (BRA, Jan 20): Damiao Ancelmo de Souza won the Corrida de Sao Sebastiao in 29:26 at 10 km. Second Gilmar Silvestre Lopes second 29:29. Kenyan Maurine Jelagat topped the women field 34:20.

KINGSTON (JAM, Jan 18): At the Big Shot Invitational meet OÂ´Dayne Richards achieved good 20.38 and in discus last year junior Fedrick Dacres improved with senior implement to high quality 64.36 m.

PRAHA (CZE, Jan 21): South American decathlon record holder Carlos Chinin clocked at an open meet 7.99 at 60 m Hurdles, his ever competition at this distance.

ATHENS (GRE, Jan 19): At Agios Kosmas Efthimis Stergioulis clocked 6.71 in the 60 m. In Olympic Stadium (indoor, Jan 18) Antonios Mastoras 224 in high jump (went directly to 231) and Dimitris Patsoukakis 550 in pole vault.

CHEMNITZ (GER, Jan 18): World fifth placer Martin Wierig achieved at regional Winter Throwing champs good 63.80 in discus.
