This is an example of how our industry should work. A hard working, smart person, devoted to the business and his brand, builds his skills and works with a fantastic team to help the brand’s business grow. That is, in a nutshell, the story of Dan Sheridan. Dan has been at Brooks for nearly two decades.

I interviewed Dan Sheridan earlier in the month at the Outdoor Retailer (January 10) and was impressed with his views on the challenges of 2016 and how Brooks pulled out of its tough first half. No hiding it, an acceptance of reality and an appreciation of where the business succeeded and what he learnt from that success.

Brooks Running Company Promotes Dan Sheridan to Executive Vice President, General Manager Global Sales

Longtime Brooks Leader Tapped to Drive Global Business and Growth Strategy

SEATTLE – Jan. 17, 2017 – In pursuit of its goal to be the number one brand for all who run, Brooks Running Company has promoted Dan Sheridan to Executive Vice President, General Manager Global Sales. In this role, Sheridan will lead the development of Brooks’ wholesale business with the best retailers in run, cultivate distributor partnerships around the world, build stronger connections with runners to fuel e-commerce, oversee execution of regional marketing programs on the ground and nurture Brooks’ culture.

“2016 was a pivotal year in the running industry characterized by a dynamic marketplace and a fast-moving consumer. We believe our focus on making the best gear for runners and Brooks’ inclusive, glass-half-full approach to your run has Brooks well positioned to propel our brand and business for years to come,” said Jim Weber, CEO, Brooks Running Company. “Dan’s leadership will drive tighter cohesion among our teams, establish clear priorities and ensure agility to address market and runner preference shifts.”

For the past four of his 19 years at Brooks, Sheridan led sales management, e-commerce, regional marketing execution, business development and customer service in North America. His charter focused the region on delivering superior customer service and connecting with runners online, in store and at a grassroots level at events.

“We have an incredible opportunity to leverage the successful foundation we have built in North America, better servicing our partners and driving demand by inspiring runners around the world,” said Sheridan. “I am excited by the opportunity to work with our global teams on delivering a consistent brand story no matter where the runner encounters Brooks.”
