The HIghgate Harriers Night of 10,000 PBs is a unique event in our sport. Bring together British track fans, a wonderful track at Hampstead Heath, London Pride, the management team of the Highgate Harriers, and several hundred enthusiastic runners who want to run fast 10,000 meters, and you had a wonderul night of sport.

There were six heats of the 10,000 meters. There were tent covernings on about 70 meters on each side of the track. Fans were entertained, plus having some London Pride, enjoying a great cheerleader, announcer, in Peter Scott, and some fun racing. The final two races, the elite events, were fine stories, with Beth Potter winning the women’s race in 32:04.63 and Andy Vernon winning the men’s race in 28:21.15.
We encourage communities around the world to having events such as this! It was my second visit to the event, and a great night of running.
