The Paris Diamond League press conference is like no other series of press events in the world. The absolute amount of star athletes and access for the media is, well, unique. On that day, I recorded 10 interviews, and missed two!

Mutaz Essa Barshim is a focused athlete. His fitness is strong, his health is strong and his mental energy is strong. In the far ranging press conference, we asked Mutaz about his current jumping, his new MR at Oslo and his pleasure at jumping 2.38 meters.

At Paris, Mutaz won at 2.35 meters, and came quite close to 2.39 meters. He will jump higher this summer and he wants to jump higher on a consistent basis.

Enjoy this interview. Know this, the men’s high jump should be quite exciting in London, and the heights reached could historic!
