The premier European Running Business Conference was a huge success, by any standards. The quality of the discussions and presenters was first class. The 282 attendees represented 50 countries in Europe, with organizers, media, federations. The next conference will be held in two years. Kudos to organisers Marko Vasic and Mark Sintes, who put a first class event on.
The challenges of bringing federations, organisers, and media together should not be understated. That continues to be the problem in our sport, as turfs and territories are hardly given up without a fight. But, there is so much promise with running and athletics supporting each other, and sponsors gaining from the global nature of the sports, that the importance of cooperation should not be underestimated.
