Atlanta Track Club, the second largest running club in US, with 21,000 members, has declared Atlanta as Running City USA. Those could be in disput with a few other cities around the US. But, as Atlanta gets closer to hosting the 2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, and as they are hours away from hosting 60,000 of their closest friends in the AJC Peachtree Road Race, the iconic 4th of July road race. Here’s a video from the Atlanta Track Club on why their fine city is Running City USA!

Atlanta Track Club Declares: Atlanta is Running City USA

Club Unveils New Identity for City at Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo

July 2, 2018 — ATLANTA – Atlanta Track Club has declared Atlanta is Running City USA. In an unveiling at the Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo ahead of the 49th AJC Peachtree Road Race, the Club launched its new campaign and staked Atlanta’s claim as one of the country’s top running and walking destinations.

“We believe this is Running City USA,” said Atlanta Track Club Executive Director Rich Kenah. “Between the history of the AJC Peachtree Road Race, our 29,000 member-strong organization, the 125,000 people who finish Atlanta Track Club races each year, a thriving youth running community and the future of Atlanta’s pedestrian infrastructure, there’s no better place in this country to be a runner or walker.”

Atlanta Track Club’s unveiling included the debut of a new video and website, runningcityusa.org, which features interviews with a wide range of well-known Atlantans as well as dedicated runners and walkers from across the area. Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms, Atlanta Falcons Owner Arthur Blank, Entrepreneur and Atlanta Hawks owner Jesse Itzler, New York Times Bestselling Author Emily Giffin and Olympian Jeff Galloway are among the recognizable faces who share their perspective on Atlanta’s strengths as a running and walking city. You can watch the video here.

The first 200 people to sign up for an Atlanta Track Club membership at the Expo receive limited edition Running City USA t-shirts. All Expo attendees will be able to take a photo showing their Running City USA pride. The Club is asking Atlantans to join the campaign by sharing why they believe Atlanta is #RunningCityUSA.
