FeetMotion-OttawaM10.jpgHospital Hill is one of the iconic Mid West races. I visited it in 2010 and was quite impressed. Put the Hospital Hill half on your bucket list as it is a challenge! Registration opened October 1, 2018.

Registration Opens October 1 for the 46th Annual Hospital Hill Run

Legendary half marathon, 10K and 5K bring thousands to Crown Center

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Hospital Hill Run, a nonprofit organization, announced that registration opens Monday, October 1, for the 46th annual Hospital Hill Run.

As registration launches for the 2019 event, race organizers are pleased to also announce exciting news regarding this year’s events, including:

  • The half marathon, 10K and 5K events are all being consolidated to a single day – Saturday, June 1 – in an effort to bring all participants together for the Hospital Hill Run challenge and their achievement.
  • Early registrants are being offered a 20 percent discount on entries made before Oct. 8 to encourage participation in one of the community’s oldest running events.
  • In the coming weeks, we will be making additional announcements that will contribute to making the 2019 Hospital Hill Run among the best in its 46-year history.

“The Hospital Hill Run is a legendary event, and we continue to improve upon it each year,” said Beth Salinger, Race Director of the Hospital Hill Run. “We have several new surprises for our runners, and we’re eager to roll those out as the race nears.”

“Whether you are a returning runner, or a first-timer, this is an iconic race through the most iconic areas of Kansas City,” Salinger added. “It holds its own as Missouri’s greatest road race. It’s the perfect experience for runners and walkers, locals and out-of-town participants.”

The 46th Annual Hospital Hill Run Half Marathon starts and finishes on Grand Blvd. in front of Crown Center. The race will take participants on a tour of Kansas City, Mo., including Hospital Hill, Brookside, the Plaza, Liberty Memorial, and the many hills for which Hospital Hill Run is famous.

The Hospital Hill Run is proudly sponsored by UMKC Health Sciences District, Crown Center, Missouri Beef Council, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City and Sun Life.

About Hospital Hill Run
What began in 1974 with 99 athletes paying a $1.00 registration fee to run a 6.8-mile course starting and ending at Crown Center has evolved into an event that regularly hosts thousands of athletes in three different event distances. The 2019 event will be the 46th annual race. Runner’s World magazine has touted Hospital Hill Run as one of the top 25 road races in the United States. Taking place on Saturday, June 1, 2019, the event includes three distances, a 5K, a 10-K and a half marathon. All events begin and end on Grand Boulevard directly in front of Crown Center.
