LOS ANGELES (USA, Mar 24): Ethiopia’s Askale Merachi won the Los Angeles Marathon in a course record of 2:24:12 ahead of Kenyans Cynthia Jerop (2:25:55) and Lucy Karimi 2:26:16 with Ukraine’s Olha Skrypak fourth in 2:30:35. Elisha Barno (2:11:46) and John Korir (2:11:53) took a Kenyan one-two in the men’s race with Mexico’s Juan Luis Barrios third in 2:12:00. The top US finishers were Tyler McCandless in 11th (2:14:57) and Lindsey Anderson in sixth (2:34:45).
