LIMA (PER): In women competition at PanAm Games the top names are Jamaican sprinters, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce going for 100 m and Elaine Thompson for 200 m. Fresh US Champion Teahna Daniels is also in the 100 m. Shaunae Miller-Uibo vs Shericka Jackson should be the 400 m clash, in the 800 m Hanna Green vs Natoya Goule, steeple has Doha Bound Ellie Ostrander. US should rule in the 100 m hurdles with Sharika Nelvis and Chanel Brissett, World champion Kori Carter is in the 400 m hurdles, Leverne Spencer in high jump. Top women pole vault is expected with Alysha Newman, Katie Nageotte, Yarisley Silva and Robeilys Peinado. Caterina Ibarguen is the long/triple favorite, although World champion Yulimar Rojas will make her life tough in the second one. Cubans are discus favorites with World leader Denia Caballero and Yaime Perez, in hammer US favorites Gwen Berry and Brooke Andersen, in shot put Jamaican Daniel Dodd-Thomas. Kara Winger with Ariana Ince from USA and Canadian Liz Gleadle are in women javelin. 50 km walk will debut at the Games.
