This is NyC Marathon weekend. It is a wonderful day in the Big Apple. I ran the race in 1986, and it was a challenging day. After the event, I met Joe Mangan once again, someone I had not seen in a decade, and someone who I coached with 4 years later.

The marathon is an amazing event. I recall the amazing people and fans in the race through the Five Boroughs. Just consider this: The NYC marathon left Central Park in 1976, as a Bicentennial celebration. It was ONLY to be one year! But, it was so successful the late dynamic duo of Fred Lebow and Allan Steinfeld were able to keep it through five boroughs!
