Mario Mendoza set a new World Treadmill 100k record of 6:39.26 on June 6, 2020. The 5x US Trail National Champion, 4x USATF Trail Runner of the Year, and former 50k Treadmill World Record Holder spent almost six hours, forty minutes on a treadmill, maintaining 6 minutes and 26 seconds a mile for 62.2 miles.
Mario Mendoza is one of the mellowest people that I have ever. His ability to keep focused and calm obviously helps him in ultra running. His sense of self, and his uncanny pacing ability makes him tough at ultra running.
This interview was recorded by Adam Johnson-Eder and produced by Mike Deering for The Shoe Addicts. The Shoe Addicts produce content for runblogrun. Special thanks to Adam and Mike for keeping me focused.
Special thanks to Mario Mendoza for his time.
