This has been a strange track season. This past week, Wisconsin, where I live much of the year, held its high school track meet, Division 3. In California, where I also live, they are doing a “pretend” California State meet.

Life changes. What was nice last night in Eugene was watching the 1500m heats and 800m heats. Athletes like Athing Mu and Hobbs Kessler, young by any standard, were signed by professional brands. Also in the races were Olympic champions.
Breathe in experiences. It is okay to be nervous, it helps you prepare for the big events. Savor the experiences.

Thursday: warm-up, run in the hills, get in 40 minutes in your 65 minute run of hill running, cooldown.
Friday: light run, 40 minutes easy pace, stretch, 4 x 150 m stride-outs, light cooldown.
Saturday: warm-up, 60 minute run in a park, moderate pace, with ten minute hilly run during run, cooldown
Sunday: Long run, 65-75 minutes, at a conversational pace
