Registration Now Open for 42nd Annual Eastbay Cross Country Championship Regionals (Formally Foot Locker Cross Country)

NEW YORK, Oct. 19, 2021 — Top high school cross country runners from across the US will compete in the four Eastbay Cross Country Championship (ECCC) Regionals (formally Foot Locker Cross Country) in hopes of becoming a finalist in the nation’s preeminent Cross Country Championship. After a one year hiatus due to the covid pandemic, high school cross country’s most esteemed and historic race will be back this fall stronger than ever under the Eastbay moniker, and looking to crown the nation’s true girls and boys champions.

Eastbay, a division of Foot Locker, Inc., will now be presenting the longest running high school cross country race in the nation. New Balance continues as a sponsor of the event outfitting the finalists with the latest performance gear head to toe. Comprised of four regional 5K races – the Northeast (Bronx, NY), South (Charlotte, NC) and Midwest (Kenosha, WI) regional races will be held on Saturday, Nov. 27, with the West Regional (Walnut, CA) race held on Saturday, Dec. 4. More than 10,000 of the nation’s leading high school runners are expected to compete in these regional meets.

“We are very excited to be presenting the country’s most prestigious High School Championship. As a part of the Foot Locker family, we are proud to carry on the storied tradition that this race has accomplished in inspiring hundreds of thousands of student athletes to run in our races for the past 41 years,” said Adam Herstig, VP of Marketing for Eastbay. “Our motto at Eastbay is ‘Game, Train, Live’ and by being a part of this race we hope to inspire the running elite of tomorrow to train and live at their best while achieving their highest level of performance at our races.”

The top ten finishers from each seeded regional race qualify for the Eastbay Cross Country National Finals (Dec. 11 in San Diego) and will join the likes of past Olympians Meb Keflezighi, Galen Rupp, Deena Kastor, Alan Webb, Kara Goucher and Ryan Hall along with this year’s Olympians Sara Hall, Cory McGee, Elle Purrier St. Pierre, Emily Sisson, Matt Centrowitz, Cole Hocker, Grant Fisher and 2021 Olympic Marathon Bronze Medalist, Molly Seidel.

Runners can register online at www.Eastbaycrosscountry.com and each entrant will receive a complimentary race-t-shirt.
