While watching the 2021 London Marathon this year, I was pleasantly surprised at how well Charotte Purdue was running. Over the last six kilometers, Steve Cram, BBC announcer (yes, that Steve Cram), was getting pretty excited about Charlie Purdue’s running in London. First, it was 2:24 pace, then, 2:23 pace, then, maybe a 2:22? Well, Charlotte ran 2:23:26, the number 3 time in British history.
I truly enjoyed interviewing Charlotte. She is a positive athlete and obviously, her remote relationship with Coach Nic Bideau has worked quite well. Thanks to Charlotte for her time, honesty and enthusiasm.
