This is Week Four, Day 4 of the 2022 RunBlogRun Fall Cross Country Training & Racing program provided by RunBlogRun. We will provide cross-country training suggestions until late December 2022 (21-22 weeks).
Today is September 22, 2022. It is a hill run day and the fourth day of week four of our 2022 Fall Cross Country Training & Racing program.
Eliud Kipchoge has the world record for the marathon at 2:01.39. He also has three Olympic golds, one Olympic silver, and One Olympic bronze, two in the marathon and one at the 5,000 meters! His silver and bronze (2008 for silver, 2004 for bronze) were at the 5,000 meters. This weekend, Eliud Kipchoge will run the ever-fast BMW Berlin Marathon course, which he is quite familiar with.
Eliud’s training is hard, and it is consistent. He is in Berlin now and resting for the big 26.2 miles, or 42.195 kilometers, whichever you choose, that he will run on Sunday, September 25, 2022. Do elite athletes get nervous? All athletes do; how they manage the stress makes them champions.
Today’s workout is a warm-up, 30-minute good pace, then 8 times 250-meter hills, run hard, jog down, six times 150-meter stride outs, then a cool down.
