This is day three, Week Six of the 2022 RunBlogRun Fall Cross Country Training & Racing Program.
Cross country is a primal part of our sport. Most distance runners compete in the cross country around the world, even ones who do not like it. Cross Country builds strength and endurance and overcoming challenges give you pride in your development.
Shalane Flanagan won the NYC Marathon in 2017, the first American woman since 1977 and Miki Gorman. Shalane was a fine cross-country runner and track athlete (3-time Olympian). She was the second American woman to win an Olympic medal at 10,000m with her bronze in 2008 (Lynn Jennings won bronze in 1992).
Today is a recovery run workout. We do three recovery days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday most weeks, between Tempo, run on Tuesday, Hills on Thursday, Race on Saturday, and Long Run on Sunday.
Your workout today is warm-up easy, 45-60 minutes, moderate pace, six times 150m stride outs, and cool down.
