This is your daily workout day for Week Eleven, Day Three of the 2022 RunBlogRun Fall Cross Country Training & Racing Program.
We post workouts daily for 22 weeks so high school athletes and their coaches have a base program for the fall cross-country season.
Recovery days are key to the week of training.
Recovery days allow the runner to recover from the hard days.
The photo featured today is of Garrett Heath. Garrett Heath was a fine runner in high school and college. After college, Garrett raced from 1,500 meters to 10,000 meters and ran tough cross-country races. Garrett has now moved to trail racing, checking out his endurance over the longer distances.
We scheduled 3 recovery days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week.
Your workout for today is warm up slowly, 45-55 minutes of running, 6 x 150 meters of stride-outs, then a slow cool-down.
