The Women’s 60 Meter was a truly hyped and well-delivered event in Karlsruhe. I wish I could have been there. Dina Asher-Smith, Mujinga Kambundji, and Ewa Swoboda duked it out in two rounds and the final was superb! What a way to begin the season.

KARLSRUHE (GER, Jan 27): World Indoor Tour Gold started in packed Messe Halle in Karlsruhe with a series of World and European leads for the beginning of the season. The best at the end as Dina Asher-Smith won the 60 m in 7.04 (in heats already 7.07 PB), not only the British record but also equaled the meet record of Irina Privalova from 1996 (also the European lead). Ewa Swoboda second at 7.09 (as in heats) and World champion Mujinga Kambundji third at 7.11. Middle distances delivered expected early World leads.
