This weekend, we get two different programs, worlds apart, covering the various offerings of World Athletics. The World Cross Country Championships happen in Bathurst, Australia happen on Saturday and the USATF Indoor Champs happen Thursday to Saturday. Both will be shown via NBC and Peacock TV for those in North America.

Live Coverage of the USATF Indoor Championships from Albuquerque, N.M., Begins Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock

STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 15, 2023 – Reigning 200m world champion Noah Lyles highlights NBC Sports live coverage of the 2023 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships from the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico this Saturday, Feb. 18, at 4 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Lyles, who won the 60m at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston earlier this month in a personal best time of 6.51 seconds, is expected to compete in the 60m against a field including 2019 4x100m world champion Cravon Gillespie and Lyles’ younger brother, Josephus. If victorious, this would be Lyles’ first indoor national championship in the 60m.

Other notable U.S. stars expected to compete this weekend include reigning world and Olympic pole vault champion Katie Moon (née Nageotte), 2022 shot put world champion Chase Ealey, 2022 4x100m world champion Aleia Hobbs, 2016 Rio Olympic 800m bronze medalist Clayton Murphy, 2016 Rio Olympic pole vault bronze medalist Sam Kendricks, 2022 400m hurdles world bronze medalist Trevor Bassitt, and 2021 U.S. 1500m champion Cole Hocker.

NBC Sports’ Paul Swangard will call the event, joined by four-time Olympic medalist Ato Boldon, 2012 London Olympic decathlon silver medalist Trey Hardee, and two-time Olympian Kara Goucher. Lewis Johnson will serve as reporter.

WORLD ATHLETICS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS BATHURST23

NBC Sports presents live coverage of the World Athletics Cross Country Championships Bathurst23 from Mount Panorama Circuit in Australia, streaming this Friday, Feb. 17, at 11:30 p.m. ET on Peacock. This is the first time this event is being held since March 2019, with the original 2021 competition being delayed two consecutive years due to the pandemic.

Highlighting the U.S. team is 2017 steeplechase world champion, Emma Coburn, making her World Cross debut. Joining her on the mixed relay team is Tokyo Olympian Heather MacLean, who won the mile in 4:23.42 at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston earlier this month. 2023 U.S. cross-country champions Ednah Kurgat and Emmanuel Bor are expected to lead the senior women’s and men’s teams, respectively.

On the international men’s side, two-time 10,000m world champion and 5,000m/10,000m world record holder Joshua Cheptegei (Uganda) looks to defend his 2019 individual title and Uganda’s team title alongside fellow teammate and 2022 10,000m world bronze medalist Jacob Kiplimo. The two will battle a competitive field highlighted by two-time world cross-country champion Geoffrey Kamworor (Kenya) and Tokyo Olympic 10,000m champion Selemon Barega (Ethiopia). On the women’s side, 2022 10,000m world champion Letesenbet Gidey (Ethiopia) headlines the field.
