European Athletics to offer extensive streaming of World Athletics Continental Tour events in 2023

European Athletics is very pleased to offer extensive streaming from World Athletics Continental Tour events in Europe this summer. 

After streaming 12 meetings from the World Athletics Indoor Tour this winter, European Athletics will be live streaming at least 18 World Athletics Continental Tour Silver and Bronze meetings over the next two months with more events to be confirmed in due course.

All the meetings will be streamed either through the European Athletics YouTube or Facebook channels and will be accompanied by expert English-language commentary. Please note some geo-blocking restrictions might apply.

The first meeting to be streamed was the Night of the 10,000m PBs in London on 20 May and European Athletics will be streaming no fewer than four events this weekend, including the Pfingstsportfest in Rehlingen with European and world champions Julian Weber, Malaika Mihambo and Hanna Klein among the big names confirmed.

Additionally, European Athletics will be streaming the Nordic Championships in Copenhagen on 27-28 May live through the European Athletics YouTube channel.

  • 11 June – Folksam Grand Prix Sollentuna, Sollentuna SWE (Bronze)
  • 13 June – Kladno hází a Kladenské Memoriály 2023, Kladno CZE (Bronze)
  • 17 June – Meeting Nikaia, Nice FRA (Bronze)*
  • 18 June – Meeting Stanislas Nancy, Nancy FRA (Silver)*

July

  • 5 July – Meeting International Montgeron-Essonne FRA (Bronze)*
  • 7 July – Meeting International de Sotteville-les-Rouen, Sotteville, FRA (Silver)*

Who is confirmed?

The javelin competitions will take centre stage at the Pfingstsportfest in Rehlingen (WACT Silver) on 28 May.

European champion Julian Weber takes on teammate Andreas Hofmann and Belgian breakthrough star Timothy Herman in the men’s javelin while 2018 European champion Christin Hussong goes head-to-head with Poland’s Olympic silver medallist Maria Andrejczyk in the women’s javelin.

European indoor 3000m champion Hanna Klein will contest the 1500m and 2018 European champion Mateusz Przybylko headlines the men’s high jump. World and Olympic long jump champion Malaika Mihambo has also been confirmed for the 100m.

The first big French names to be confirmed for the Meeting de Montreuil (WACT Silver) on the outskirts of Paris on 31 May are former European 100m record-holder Jimmy Vicaut in the 100m, veteran Melina Robert-Michon in the discus and Pascal Martinot-Lagarde and Wilhem Belocian in the 110m hurdles.

Top international stars who have been confirmed include Olympic 100m hurdles champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn who goes head-to-head with former world champion Nia Ali.

At the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial in Chorzow on 4 June, European champion Pia Skrzyszowska is due to cross paths with Olympic champion Camacho-Quinn in the 100m hurdles. Another highlight is the 400m featuring home favourite and mixed Olympic 4x400m champion Natalia Kaczmarek against world and Olympic silver medallist Marileidy Paulino from the Dominican Republic.

Other leading Polish athletes to be confirmed include Wojciech Nowicki and Pawel Fajdek in the hammer, Ewa Swoboda in the 100m and Piotr Lisek in the pole vault.

European indoor long jump champion Jazmin Sawyers will jump at the Nikaia in Nice on 17 June.

From an international standpoint, world 5000m champion Gudaf Tsegay from Ethiopia will contest the 10,000m.
