Gary Martin is an exciting American middle distance runner, coached by Trevor Dunbar and Vinn Lananna at the
University of Virginia. A strong high school runner, Gary ran at Archbishop Wood High School, in Westminster, Pennsylvannia.
Gary just finished fifth in the NCAA SouthEast Regional, as he and his team, the UVA Cavaliers, move to the NCAA Division 1
Cross Country Championships.
Gary Martin runs most weeks around 75-80 miles a week and is focused on quality training, building his endurance and strength to race from 800 meters to 5,000 meters. His favorite indoor distance? The 3,000 meters!

On December 6, Gary Martin took third in the 5,000 meters at the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener, in 13:05.57, a nearly 8 second PB! What a great track opener after his 7th place in the NCAA Cross Country Championships on November 22, 2025.
