1. The Stanford Invitational was, for decades, my opening outdoor event of the elite season.

2. I recall running the Martin Luther King Jr. Games at Stanford in April 1980 in the 10,000m, where I ran 33:20.

3. Jane Hedengren is debuting at the Stanford Invite, in the 10,000m on Friday night. How fast will she go?
