At least 10 events will be live-streamed on the European Athletics channels in May 2026 on the road to the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships from 10-16 August.

More World Athletics Continental Tour Silver, Bronze, and Challenger events could be added to the live streaming schedule for May 2026 in due course.

Who’s competing?
World 5000m silver medallist Isaac Kimeli from Belgium is one of the star names confirmed for the 1500m at the Belfast Classic on 9 May.
Kimeli will step down to the 1500m, where he will face fellow global medallist Ben Pattison, the bronze medallist in the 800m at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, and multiple European U23 cross-country champion Will Barnicoat. 2020 Olympic 1500m finalist Michal Rozmys from Poland also competes.
European indoor 3000m silver medallist Melissa Courtney-Bryant is due to race in the 1500m, and fellow Brits Henry Jonas, Justin Davies, Callum Dodds, and Will Rabjohns are among the entrants in a strong domestic men’s 800m.
Reigning European indoor 60 champion Jeremiah Azu will be in action in the 200m. He will also race with his Welsh teammates, including his brother Alex, in the men’s 4x100m in preparation for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, just before the European Athletics Championships.
The first big fixture on the European Athletics calendar this summer is the European 10,000m Cup, which takes place in La Spezia, Italy, on 23 May.
Reigning world 10,000m champion Jimmy Gressier has been announced as part of a strong French team aiming to defend its team title.
Gressier will also be targeting his second individual title after winning gold at the 2022 European 10,000m Cup. The Frenchman might also have an eye on the enduring championship record of 27:14.44 set by Spain’s Fabian Roncero in 1998.
Meanwhile, host Italy will also have high hopes in the men’s race. World marathon bronze medallist Iliass Aouani has already confirmed his plans to compete, and 2022 European 10,000m champion Yemaneberhan Crippa is also likely to race as well if he has recovered sufficiently from his victory in the Paris Marathon.
Mariano Garcia has been announced for the 1500m at the Canarias Athletics Invitational on 27 May, the event in which he was crowned world indoor champion in Torun in March.
Other early entrants include legendary triple jumper Yulimar Rojas from Venezuela, who is on the path back to top form after an Achilles tear forced her to miss the majority of the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
A whole cast of German stars will be in action at the Goldenes Oval in Dresden on 31 May, with the field events taking center stage.
Steven Richter and Matt Denny from Australia will renew their developing rivalry in the discus, while Olympic champion Yemisi Ogunleye and European champion Malaika Mihambo are confirmed for the shot put and long jump, respectively. World silver medallist Merlin Hummel also competes in the hammer.
On the track, 2022 European champion Gina Lückenkemper will race in the 100m.
