Schilder 21.09 DLR/WL, seven world leads in Shanghai/Kequiao
SHANGHAI/KEQIAO (CHN, May 16): Jessica Schilder’s new Diamond League record of 21.09 in the women’s shot put was the highlight of the Shanghai/Keqiao inaugural Wanda Diamond League 2026 meeting. It was the Performance of the Day. Eight more meet records were set on Saturday afternoon at the China Textile City Sports Center, with seven world leads and two more world outdoor leads. Mondo Duplantis claimed his 44th DL victory, while four athletes achieved their first-ever DL win. No World record at the end, although Duplantis tried, Kipyegon won, but Warholm lost. The noisy, relatively crowded stands witnessed the defeat of three of the seven reigning world champions who competed here in their disciplines. The next Diamond League meeting will take place in Xiamen on May 23.
